
The longest running program in Canada which enables the proper care and placement of former
harness racing horses into new homes and new
careers. All
horses entering the program are sound and healthy and able to be re-trained for new
careers. Most are younger
horses who don't have enough promise to begin or continue racing.
Promoting this breed is a large component of the associations activities, which includes ,
horse shows, event displays and demos, fundraising events, and clinics to encourage proper re-training of the
horses . All activities are open to any breed of
horse.
The association also offer support and information for new owners or those wanting to be involved.
Also enables Standardbred race
horse owners , trainers , and breeders alternatives for the
horses unable to pursue a racing career.
The Standardbred
horse has long been known for their steady & kind temperment, sound build and endurance, and overall willingness to please attitude!
